I kinda enjoyed Legend and Anniversary, but they just don't have the same "feel" of the old blocky ‘90s games. Also they changed Lara's personality too much, she was more cold, distant, and mysterious in the old games. I still play TR II and III occasionally to this day.
Also the other good thing about old games is you an run them maxed out on a low-end computer.

Anniversary was a remake of TR I with all the new technology, and then I think Underworld is a reboot not connected to the previous canon.

I suppose so. I haven't really been following it, though. I think the franchise peaked a long time ago.

They did that in Tomb Raider Chronicles, and aside from her looking younger, I don't see how it meaningfully changes the dynamic of the games.
They don't need to reboot it, the original storyline was fine.
