He kidnapped a woman who rejected him. Burned down her house and kept her as a sex slave.
Cops found her two weeks later when they came to arrest the guy. A neighbor saw his van, but it took two weeks for cops to get around to getting him.. I don't know if they didn't get a plate number or what.
He totally failed at home imprisonment.
Here are his mistakes.
1. He knew the victim.
2. He didn't place a body in the house after burning it. At the least, it would delay the investigation until try could confirm dental records.
3. Too old. She never would have quit fighting him.
4. He returned to her home after the initial kidnapping.
5. He didn't keep her locked away in a soundproof hidden room (the cops heard her yelling for help).
Isn't it crazy how someone could mess up such an easy crime to pull off? He had two good weeks though. I wouldn't be surprised if he felt it was worth it. He obviously was obsessed with this woman.

I didn't write this book to, you know, make profit from what happened
but because I needed to deal what happened to my story and archive closure.
I wanted to give people the opportunity to read the whole truth for themselves without having it filtered through the eyes of a journalist.
It also really helped my to put the affair behind me because it forcd my to recall it on last time.
Now that it is written down, I feel like it is behind me and I don't have to deal with it anymore.

The whole situation was so frightening that it could have broken me at the very beginning, but the mind has amazing abillity to protect itself by withdrawing from the outside world to avoid having to surrender to the situation at hand.

Think about it for one minute. You might not see your actions for what they really are because you are clouded by your own perception of yourself. You know your intention is X but everyone else perceives it as Y.

As long as he lies in bed and stares at the ceiling, the danger is relatively small.
