It's funny because it does seem the prosecution fucked up by going for Murder 2. They could have easily put him in jail for 5 years or so for a lesser charge, which is probably exactly what he actually deserves for being a prejudiced hothead.
But no. The prosecution sucks. They can't get murder 2 without disproving his self-defense claim. Seems forcing Trayvon's parents to lie on the stand and claim the voice on the tape was their son's voice might not be enough.
