Topic: should I buy a 3 thousand dollar sword?

I sure would hate to be stuck in the middle of an apocalypse with only the dwindling resource of gun and bullet. A quality sword could last me the whole rapture! And if it's zombies or mutant rabies or collapse of society in general I'll be better off still. Not only that, if I kill someone with it I get to bring it to heaven with me when I die. And in texas I can legally use it for self defense inside my home!

I already own a computer. It's still pretty fast even though it's only an intel i7 2600k. I think my asus maximus motherboard is still not that obsolete. I should probably get a new graphics card, my gtx 570 is probably slow by now, but that upgrade is less than 600 bucks I bet.

Why would I scrap it? It's not a cheap decorative display sword, it's a hand forged, hardened combat sword. In fact even though it's a medieval design, it is harder, tougher, sharper and more durable than even a genuine medieval sword made for killing knights. I would no sooner scrap a sword like that than I would scrap a high end sports car just becuase it's not "street legal."

Ya I no but guns yes - Back when I took Marine Basic training the Rifle with bayonets came closest to anything with a sword, but I never had a reason to try those rifles. Not part of my basic training.

Fuck yes! Also, you could make a bow for the coming apocalypse, you can carve arrows out of wood for long range kills. Smaller ones also, for throwing to make the target cover their eyes while you get in close for the kill

Oh, I already have a bow. But yeah, I could learn to fletch arrows or whatever out of stuff. Fuck wood though, scavenge for 3/8" or so copper tubing. Make arrow heads out of broken glass and fins out of plastic.
I bet you can get lots of arrow worthy tubing from abandoned cars. But yeah. Wood might not be plentiful during armageddon.
What I need is a sword.
