$500 a month?! Do they expect me to write off my car twice a year? I don't have any tickets (aside from one fix-it ticket for having a bad headlamp at midnight) and have had no accidents in my two years of driving experience. At least diesel is cheap enough.

And it's even worse because this is for me with a diesel Golf. I am not even going to go into the cost of a boy racer car. Surprisingly a V8 RWD Ford sedan isn't that expensive to insure.

I have had two accidents, and they all occurred when I try to back out of driveways. First one was when I backed into my mother's car while late to work. The second time was at night when I backed into a pile of rocks at the side of the driveway. Neither were reported and both left very minor fender damage, but the embarrassment was much more painful.
