I go to open a high res pic of a $50 and... it says it doesn't "support the loading of banknote images". What a load of BS, it supports it, they just decided to specifically ban it (somehow).

Where did you get the image? What version of PS? Part of my undergrad thesis proof-of-concept related to imagery of US currency, and the images could load in CS2 and CS3.

The detection should be based on a five-point, algebraic pattern in the image. I believe the error message used to say “does not support printing†rather than “opening.â€

Go look up O'Reilly's Digital Media blog. There are multiple work a round's.
Color copiers that refuse to copy - really easy way - not worth much because any clerk in a store has the "Pen"
Copier will not copy the so many added gimmicks they keep adding.

back in high school this shit never was an issue scanning money. i'd scan 10/20 dollar bills, go to mom and pop stores and buy gum, get the change in real money, repeat process at other mom & pop stores
