At a meditteranean cafe, I am applying to be a waiter. Cool place, really good Gyros, lamb kebobs, dolmas, lamb kebobs, etc. Chill environment/not very big, reasonably priced, in a good area/not too far from my house (20 minute commute).
I've never been a waiter before so not sure what to expect exactly. Has anyone here been in the profession? If so, tips/pointers?
Mutton deserves a break. I never once ceen Mutton kabobs on a menu

Bring a resume and references on nice/heavy paper, even if they didn't request it.
Have questions prepared that show you did some research.

Don't crush anyone's hand. Don't talk about the Cheesecake Factory.

Don't mention the reptilian threat unless they bring it up first. Work Minichan into the conversation if possible. This is your opportunity to help spread the word.

Try not to bring up Lexi, I know you like to do that in every social interaction you have.

Insist that they call you Mr. Snuffleupagus Popopopolous. Ask how much Greece (read: grease) is in their food.

Yes actually
customer service is most important. Also learn the menu and prices by heart so you can make suggestions if they're stuck.

If I'm ever in Texas I will make it a point to track you down and seriously injure you. I'll probably cut off one of your ears, give you an impromptu meatotomy, and remove half of your teeth.

Link? I just may do that. I have to spend a day in Houston in about 2 weeks for a layover. Doesn't he live in Houston? If I have the opportunity I'll at least kick his ass, maiming him carries som scary legal repercussions, but giving him a good old beat down probably won't get me in any trouble.
