Topic: Am I romantic yet?

postmortem !!FVJOHfXUk started this discussion 13 years ago #28,883

Taking Lexi out this Friday to a restaurant in the arts district, not sure if it would be considered "upscale", but the I think the least expensive dish is like $15, so it isn't a Mcdonald's, also it's the restaurants only location, and not a chain, which I think makes things a bit classier. I am creating a playlist of songs specifically for her with music I know she likes for the ride there and back, although if she chooses she can certainly pick her own songs.

I will also be giving her a little card, and a small gift. Probably some chocolates or something. Not for any particular reason, just to tell her that I love her.

Is this good enough? I am trying here.

Better than driving to her house at 1:30, but something about this is still off-putting.
Maybe it's the emphasis on gifts and spending money on her rather than genuine signs of affection. The nice restaurant is fine, but when you top it off with chocolates and a gift for no reason, it's a little excessive and seems like you're trying to buy her love.

No, I am making her a card, actually making it, not buying it. And getting her chocolates. Nothing major, just like a lindt chocolate bar ($1.75) or something. Also there'll be plenty of sweetness and affection during the whole event.

LOL this

@424,892 (postmortem !!FVJOHfXUk)
No really, we see that you're trying. Just put the self-centered on hold and actually be interested and responsive to what she wants and not the how-she-should-react-to-me-now-that-I've-done-this part. If she's not in the mood to be happy, then do it some other time. Don't try to force the desired result in some frustrated "But I'm doing all the right things!" moment. (Also, avoid crushing her hand.)

@OP

Try not to squeeze her hand too hard.

Not too bad. You should then take her to the site of your first date and bone her there, to show you care. Thanks.

I believe she is in the mood to happy, she won't do things that she even kind of doesn't want to do.

@424,912 (!KThEOwLwbU)
Yes.

@previous (beckyderp !8ElfFaoFao)
We've done something pretty close to that.

Just don't treat her the way George treated Trayvon.

As long as she doesn't bring skittles and snapple.
