Topic: hah ha: TIL that i personally got 2 people evicted from my old apartments
squeegee !first/o5zA started this discussion 13 years ago#28,866
so anyway my old landlord is also a real estate agent and i met up with him last night to look over a few properties i'm interested in and after we got done with business we started gossiping. Turns out two people were evicted (or, well, asked to leave if not forced) as a direct result of things I told the management.
One night at midnight i was out looking for my cat and one of my neighbors was walking around between the buildings carrying a very expensive 35mm camera with a telephoto lens. he didn't know i was outside, and when i saw him i didn't really think anything of it, but, when he saw me he stopped what he was doing, tried to hide the camera, and then walked away acting real funny like. After thinking about it for a bit everything started to add up, he was between the buildings where it was dark, someone was using a bb gun to shoot out the spotlights around the apartments, and more than once i've had a girlfriend tell me they heard something outside the window when we were fucking.
in fact one time i also heard something at the window while fucking a girl and i went outside with a bat to beat the shit out of whoever it was and found nothing there. but, we were both pretty sure someone was peeping since we were not being quiet about anything.
Anyway, after i caught the guy with the giant camera hiding in the darkness i went to the landlord and said, "hey, not naming any names here, but, if you've gotten complaints about a peeping tom, i know who it is."
he said, "oh really?"
i told him about the camera, the giant lens, the sneaking around and trying to hide, which apartments he was near (um, they happened to be apartments leased by young women) and his odd behavior.
He said, "was it [redacted]?"
i just looked at him and said, "now i'm not saying he even did anything, i didn't see shit, but if you've got people complaining, if peeping is actually a problem, then yeah, it was weird. but if not, then it's probably nothing."
he said, "okay, i hear you."
few weeks later the guy with the camera moved. I never knew exactly why, by last night i found out he was actually a peeping tom and taking pictures of people through their windows. the landlord ended up entering his apartment, went into his dark room, and found some pictures.
There had been other complaints, which is why the spot lights were added in the first place, he said. But no one ever saw the guy until me, but, he suspected the guy all along because initially he had put a padlock on his "darkroom."
the closet he used for the dark room happens to have the maintenance hatch for the plumbing and AC (as well as the breaker box), and so maintenance had to enter from time to time to mess with shit, and when he put that pad lock on the closet the service guys couldn't enter. so, the landlord had to tell him to remove it, then questioned why he needed it (the closets have keyed deadbolts) and the guy had some lame excuse about not wanting pictures getting ruined. so, the landlord was always suspicious of that dark room.
also the spot lights miraculously stopped getting shot out.
The next person i got evicted didn't end up living there long. about 3 weeks. Anyway, quick story, so they guy living upstairs that had just moved in was outside one night screaming with his girlfriend. Actually she was doing most of the screaming, and slamming his door over, and over, and over again. This went on from 3AM to easily 4AM on and off. By about 4AM the fighting was constant, outside, and right near my window.
Finally i got up, got dressed, put my shoes on, and went outside to say hi.
I walked up and a fat, little troll girl was up on his balcony screaming expletives in this dudes face, and he was drunk as fuck, stumbling around, and slamming the door in her face so she'd have to kick it to make him open it.
So, like i said, i walk up and shout at them, "Hey, how're y'all doing tonight?"
they girl shut up real quick, and they guy hollared back, "Just fine, how're you?"
And i said, "not too good, i live right down here in this apartment, and it's 4 AM and you two won't shut the fuck up."
His girlfriend started to yell at me and i looked at him and screamed, "if you don't shut her the fuck up, i'm kicking your ass. i'm going to give you 5 minutes to resolve your argument and go to bed, but, if i hear her scream one more fucking time, or slam one more fucking door, i'm going to drag you off of your balcony and beat you in the middle of the fucking courtyard. GOT IT?"
then i looked at her and said, "and if you think i'm lying just open your fucking mouth."
needless to say the guy scuttled away with his girlfriend and we didn't hear a peep out of them for the rest of the night. Next day the landlord evicted them because of the 14 some odd complaints against them for harassment, obnoxious behavior, and trying to fight the neighbors, lol.

bullshit, one of them was illegally photographing me fucking my girlfriend, in texas, i could have killed him for that.
the other one's cunt of a girlfriend was screaming like a banshee and slamming doors at 3AM on a worknight and disturbing re: 14 people. Also, illegal in Texas, however i couldn't have shot them for that, but i could've detained and or restrained him until the police arrived to arrest him for disturbing the peace, which was the plan, but unfortunately he got his thunder cunt to shut up and everyone just went to sleep.

do you really think i should let some dude go around photographing me and my neighbors illegally?
do you really think it's cool to disturb the peace for a solid hour, on a work night, and interfere with the tranquility of 14 other residents peaceful nights sleep? i fucking gave dude an hour to calm his cow down, and all he did was spur her on and encourage louder more disruptive behavior.
i could've called the cops on either one of them, but i didn't. i even tried to not get the peeping tom in trouble, i didn't even say dude's name. The manager had already caught wind of him. that one was only a matter of time. I dind't even rat out the noisy neighbor, 14 other people complained about that. all i did was shut them the fuck up so i could fucking sleep. if you'd have done differently, you're just craven.

just an apartment complex is all, and those were the only two bad neighbors. Except for the chick that tried to rape me. still not sure how i feel about that one, but i'm pretty sure i feel bad about it. my girlfriend at the time thought it was funny.
of course there's a long list of annoying neighbors i've had through the years, but, someone breaking my bong and returning it without telling me was a dick move, just nothing to complain to the police about.

oh yeah, and then there was the artist chick that lived across the stairwell. she was interesting for all of 5 minutes. she was from the highborn part of town, went to private school, of course, and then went up the street to SMU, of course, to get her degree, of course, in art and sociology or something, and then, of course, travel through spain, and then South America drawing things and casting about with a drunken group of international hipsters all born into money. of course. anyway. after her year vacation abroad she moved in next door to me, once again, 5 minutes away from home.
she was fine for a few weeks, then she started having friends over and she made her apartment their "hangout" to drink and smoke pot and sit up till 4 or 5 in the morning smoking cigarettes outside. which was fine on weekends. on weekends, friday night and saturday night, i could give a fuck what people do. I even worked saturdays and didn't give a fuck, it's to be expected on a weekend that shit's going down, and most people don't take it to gross excess anyway. and i'll let things slide alot, but then she was having people over almost every night, and every night people were sitting outside her apartment smoking cigarettes, drinking, and talking, all right outside my bedroom window. quite literally no more that 5 feet away from my ears was a loud gaggle of rich, over-privileged, unemployed hipsters, and not a single one of them had any consideration for the time of day, or the fact that real people work and need sleep to function during daylight hours.
so this was happening one random wednesday night, and i was pretty sick of it. so, i got up, put on a shirt and pajama bottoms and went out my front door which happened to open right into the courtyard not ten feet from where they were sitting and talking by my bedroom window.
So i walk out, and start packing a pack of cigarettes and said, "Howdy, how're y'all doing tonight?"
one of them said, "good," or something, and then, "how're you doing?"
and i said, "not good, i'm having trouble trying to sleep. So i thought i'd come out here and have a cigarette with y'all."
one of the guys said something like "hi" or something, and said his name was Tom or whatever.
so i pointed to the other guy and said, "okay, so then you're dave, right?" or whatever his name was.
Then i said pointing at the girls, "Lisa, Ann, and Beth" or whatever, and they corrected me, but at the time i knew all their names. just noth their faces.
So then i just hopped into the conversation and told Lisa that her ex boyfriend sounds like trouble.
Then one of the guys was like, "Who are you again?" like, who are you and what're you doing crashing this party pretending to know us, was what he was thinking.
I pointed to the window and said something like, "i live in this unit here. That's my bedroom right there. y'all are always out here smoking and talking, figured since y'all keep me up i might as well join you."
i then proceeded to talk about all of them like i knew them, because among other things i knew which ones of them had STDs and things like that (this had been going on for many, many weeks) and i would give them creepy advise, like, "are you the one with the parents who want you to move out and get a job? Just go work at Starbucks until your trust fund kicks in next year. Then they can't make you do jack."
needless to say, they started smoking outside her back door near the parking garage.
