Like any other tattoo they can be done well, and enhance a sexy body. Or they can give a fat white-trash slut another reason to show off her horrible body. Personally I like them. I don't care if it's a stereotype. The small of the back is one of my favorite parts of a girl's body. A nicely done tattoo just makes it that much hotter.

Very rarely do tattoos or piercings improve a girl's appearence, yeah some chicks can rock a lip ring or a tramp stamp and look really sexyswag, but forthe most part I prefer someone tat/piercing free.

I personally find most all tatoos pathetic.
All but a very specific kind anyways. I can handle a mom tat, a Jesus tat, or even a babe tat cause they communicate meaning. I love specific word tatoos cause they tend to be more deliberate and direct, and as such, communicate much more about the person behind them.

I find mom and Jesus tats pretty cliche. Word tattoos even moreso. Text doesn't go well on skin in most cases.
I'd rather see some awesome artwork on someone's skin. The meaning isn't relevant to me, only to them.
