As long as you aren't seriously injuring yourself then I don't see the problem. A lot of us have harmful vices. Your's just happens to be a bit more of a visible one. I see the problem, I just don't think it's a big deal.

The last bit was my edit in, I do see that it's technically harmful, I just don't think it's anything to be too concerned about. Kind of like drinking or smoking or any other vice. Yeah, it isn't good, but it's nothing to get worked up over.
