It would let me know when someone's at the door or the kettle is boiled or the house is burning down. So do you reckon I should get one or would it be a waste of time? I dunno, I think I function pretty well without, though I never answer the phone when it rings. Would you get a hearing dog if you were in my position?

I have no sense of smell, and I have been thinking about getting a smelling nose dog. He can detect gas leaks for me and bark at people who fart in elevators.

My grandfather was deaf because of scarlet fever when he was a child. I know sign language. Well, some sign language.
You who else knew sign language? His dog. Hewould sign commands and the dog would sit,roll over, get his toys, and all sorts of stuff with nonverbal commands. Pretty cool.
