I was driving home from my friend's house last night, we had a little "congratulations on your first copypasta" soiree. I didn't drink because I was going to have to drive home later. Around 3am I started to drive home, okay to drive.
My house is about 30 minutes away from my friend's house, and the majority of the drive went smoothly. I entered my neighborhood roads, and started speeding a little. The speed limit was 30mph, but I went about 25mph or so; not too terribly fast because I always respect speed laws. Anyway, I figured no one would be out this late, but a kid ran in front of my car. I tried to stop, and my vehicle came to a halt about 10 feet away from him. He proceeded across the street safely. He looked about 6 years old.
I thought for a moment and realized he saw me. I patted myself on the back for being an observant and responsible citizen. When I got home I washed my car thoroughly, vacuumed the upholstery, and emptied out the spare change that had been collecting in the cup holder.
