Oh Current Macs run a slightly modified Unix O/S .........Closer to Unix then Linux. Linux of course is just a very slight modification of Unix. 1969-70 vintage Unix. Unix rocks!! Linux is almost as good
I have a 3 yr old Mac running straight Sun Micros Solaris code based on UNIX System V Release 4 -Wide open license no longer supported. Much better O/S then current Mac O/S but would make Mac more expensive if they used it. That Mac is no longer connected to net - Lab use only for fast Fourier transforms.

However my GF is downstairs and let me go up to get some hot work down - "Thing" I am working on - I have a window of 7 to 14 minutes to access the "thing" and then its gone going at 17,500 MPH and have to wait 29 mins to access it again from another point on earth - so down time allows net play tween
"Thing" is new born (Oct 19th and burping a little too much - like any baby it needs to settle down. I end up breast feeding it - actually 6 new borns

It would basically be Windows with a shinier appearance, horrible ergonomics and window management, OS X's huge number of exploits would couple with Windows' huge number of viruses to result in extremely fragile security, it would only work on prebuilt computers, and Subsytem for Unix-based Applications would come turned on out of the box so it can be "unix certified"
