The first place I was taken to was the middle of a track through a field, I drove (or cycled--it was a Streetview bike at first) for 5 minutes and finally approached a road with no markings. I continued down this road for another 15 minutes and was presented with the blurriest fucking sign that I eventually translated to "No entry ahead".
It says it's a random location but I reckon they intentionally give you awkward places. There's no fun to it if it takes too long.

Then my second location is this barely-visible snow-covered road, so I picked a direction and started travelling down it. Later I passed a few collections of homes, one of which had a community noticeboard of some kind, and some parked cars. Nothing identifying where I was.
20 minutes passes, and I reach the END of the bloody road (pic related), and the only way to go is back all the way I came! Then Chrome becomes unresponsive before I can hit 'Return to start location', and after I relaunch Chrome, GeoGuessr took me back to somewhere else and I have 0 points. :(

Doesn't googling signs and traveling street view for hundreds of miles defeat the purpose of a guessing game? Why not just zoom out and see what country you're in?
I got 8500pts because I guessed that snow means sweden, rocky roads with cliffs is eastern europe, and the rest I just guessed china and russia becuase they are bigger and return more results than, say, micronesia.
