Because I was thinking it'll get left behind like the Wii was since it's behind a generation, but then I realized that for someone who is perfectly contented with the last generation (360, PS3) then the Wii U should be worth it for those people who could still probably expect some decent games being made for the console since it has last gen technology and not so much a gimmick controller.
I still think PS4 is probably the better option when it comes to consoles.

Apparently the Wii U is severly lacking in some areas of hardware (the CPU, specifically, IIRC. Though GPU is reportedly up to scratch). This has caused at least one company to openly say that they aren't currently making any games for it, so its definetely got its problems. Though I think it's got a reputable enough brand to maintain a decent customer base (famalies and Nintendo fans). So I suppose it'll mostly only be "worth it" to those sorts of demographics.
Moving on to the PS4/Xbox One, it's anyone's guess at this point. We can't say much conclusive until they're out and people are playing games on them. Though personally I don't care too much. More or less just a PC gamer these days.

Well, if the rumors about Microsoft's second hand fee is correct, then the PS4 should automatically be the deciding winner for people looking to get a mainstream console for multiplatform titles that do not get released for the PC (or any of Nintendo's consoles). Of course, the Xbox 360 has had success despite them charging for online services that you're already paying for. I guess fanboyism pays. I just hope we get another chadwarden for this generation.

Yep. Brand loyalty is going to be a big factor. Not that there's anything wrong with that, some people just like their console's exclusives. Also, for what it's worth, the One not being mandatorily online should win them some brownie points with the public. It was such a huge issue before.

I don't know. Chad Warden may have been a once in a lifetime thing. It would take a true grandmaster of trolling to eclipse such excellence.
