My nephew has a computer and he replaced the motherboard, cpu, memory and PSU.
It now reboots randomly. It's not the GPU and he has isolated each sim and it still does it. He disconnected the HD and it reboots in the bios as well. Can I safely say the motherboard is bad and needs to be exchanged?
As rock 970 extreme4 motherboard. (Am3+ chipset)

Amd FX 8320 Am3+ processor
Any other ideas? It did it with both the old and the new PSU, so I'm pretty sure thats okay, its 750 watts, so it should be fine.

i would probably just send it back to the store for warranty, it might be nothing but it's free anyway

Its a homebrew. Me and his dad built it with him last year and he upgraded major components. Now he has the problem, and I wasn't supervising when he installed the parts so I don't know exactly that everything is correct. I can't imagine what he could've done wrong tbh, and it's acting like theres a bad component.
I think he got the parts from newegg becuase his mother is an idiot and didn't take him to microcenter to get parts like I suggested. This problem would've been sorted a week ago if I had anything to do with it.
I think its a bad motherboard, but I don't know how to check that for sure. Id have just returned it and tried a new one.

Yeah, turns out he did go to microcenter, so yes, but also he can still exchange whatever is bad. It's the determining what component is failing that's the only issue now it seems.

oh and i guess to further answer the question it's the old hard drive, so it's the old install. he said he removed the old drivers and installed the new ones, but idk. i didn't really know you could do that i guess, whenever i've built a computer or done an upgrade i pretty much always do a fresh install on a new hard drive and use the old one for backup (or they're so small i laugh at their 300 gigs). i'm worried there's some driver conflict, but he said it resets its self with no OS loaded, so... if it's not the power supply it's the motherboard, right?
