Maybe. I never really participated in brony communities, so I don't really know.
A lot of them are also pretty normal, likeable guys (some even organise bronies to help charity). But yes, the loud autist sort will give any group a bad image. And bronies, being a fringe group which preaches "love and tolerance" attracts a high volume of such people.

I've been into the series for about 6 years, which is about 1/3 of my life. Not once did I ever think "man, I used to like this, but now it's not appealing to me". But I still kind of suck at the games :(
