Also, what are your qualifications? I'm not going to let some random person from the street write my papers.

No, I'm not asking for money or anything, and I'll do it a few days before the deadline in case you need to fix or rewrite anything. So I'm not going to interview for the job.

So what do you think? (I'm honestly curious what you think of whether (non-human) animals are capable of language, BTW)

It all depends on how you define language.
Literally just had a lecture about it, and apparently there's a distinction to be made between full-blown language and just communication. e.g we can talk about past/future events while animals generally only discuss "the here and now".
Also, IIRC, no attempts to teach a language to animals has been undoubtedly successful. Apparently they've had some success with gorillas and sign language, but are unsure whether they've really learnt it or not. But then you've got Prairie dogs who actually have quite complex communication, able to express very specific concepts.
So yeah, I think that some animals have their own forms of language, but nothing like what we've got.

Genius! Okay, Becky, I don't need your help now. I will be turning in a single sheet that just reads "Yes. Humans have it.".

Ha. Mentioned this to my lecturer and she said that I could actually do it, because of the wording of the question, but it'd be a damn short essay.
