These guys always pronounce "st" as "scht" on word beginnings and similar emphases. I've noticed that quite often recently. Is this accent tied to some region of the USA or where does it come from?

edit: I think Jim Carey does that too, in some of his silly movies.
edit edit: I'm trying to think of words they do it with, if you can help. I feel like the kind of person who would do this might be the same kind of person who pronounces "water" as "warter" and "wash" as "warsh". Like the north-mid-west area.

So "stick" would sound like "schtick"? And "strong" "schtrong"? I can't say I've ever actually heard this accent. Wikipedia says Alex Jones is from Dallas, though. More US fags start to come on around lunch hour, maybe someone who isn't stuck up as far North East as me can shed some light.

I live in Delaware and I have no idea what you're talking about. The only people I've heard talk like this are people with lisps. You'll have to find a video of someone talking like this or something.

"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.
I'm from Texas. Only 300 miles away from the Mexican border. I'm really glad I don't have one of those obnoxious southern drawls.

I also have a midland accent. Though I don't know why they say Pennsylvanians have a midland accent, as many people in Northern PA have some quirks in their speech. And being from Delaware, I know there are some weird quirks in speech here also, especially in southern Delaware where they'll do things like pronounce "water" as "wooter" (like "wood-er" but with a "t".) Most of these things haven't gotten to me, but since I have family in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Delaware, and I lived in Texas for a while, every once in a while weird things come out of my speech.
