If you need something as light as XP on your box, you probably can't use any modern software that requires Windows anyway.

because it's incompatible with my hardware and likes to crash every now and then when I put it to sleep or hibernate :( 7 has no issues

I find it incredibly annoying that Win8 is almost unusable out-of-the-box. Win8 is quite great with Pokki start menu.

No but you are not forced to use Aero so why do you want it actually removed full stop? There must be a reason other than you not having a "use" for it (it's a theme anyway wtf it's not pointless the point of it is to decorate the window)

I use soft7 2.0 myself which i want to see put in the default windows selection because it's good
