Physically or psychologically? I think your average smoker will have worse physical withdrawal symptoms, but an easier time psychologically than a typical alcoholic. But a really bad alcoholic is gonna have it the worst, I'd agree.

Having tried both, alcohol seems to have a much stronger effect. Nicotine doesn't do much for me. I do have a cigar once or twice a year though (cigarettes are nasty, imo). I never understood how tobacco is supposed to be more addictive than cocaine or heroin when you can barely feel anything from it.

I chain smoke when I drink sometimes. The last two times I smoked I had cravings the next day, so I've been avoiding it since then. But you can smoke hookah and cigars without having the same effect.

It does increase dopamine levels in the brain, so there must be some feelgood sensation from it. I guess it varies from person to person.

What's the longest period you've smoked for?

A few days in a row (maybe 3 or 4) when I got a bunch of cigarillos.
I should note that I don't inhale smoke, but I have tried oral tobacco (snus) too which is supposed to have more nicotine than smoking a cigarette.

I can go for a week without drinking, but I can't go for more than a few hours without some sort of nicotine.

Have you considered substituting that for, say, lettuce?

You mean... killer lettuce?

I have considered this. However I feel that lettuce is far more dangerous. I hear it kills people.

I believe we were arguing that if you smoked lettuce it would be equally dangerous to smoking cigarettes.

I'm off the cigarettes nearly two weeks now, I've been a regular smoker since I was 15 years old (23 now). You have to be a full time regular smoker to actually apreciate the "buzz" you get off smoking. You dont become addicted to tobacco after one night.

I get a little light-headed and weak-kneed from smoking, it's really nice.
I'm kind of worried about addiction though. It isn't an issue right now. I get cravings once in a while but don't give in to them. I get more cravings for chocolate tbh.
