So a delay of two days or less would not require an apology or explanation?

I did send it. I didn't think an explanation was required since my reply came 48 hours and 33 minutes later, but I started to question myself afterwards. It was in regards to volunteer work on a long-term project so the urgency was low.

As long as an additional five hours six minutes nine seconds and four nanoseconds had not passed, then no.

And now you're editing your posts so that mine lose all meaning.

You are literally worse than Hitler.

Depends on who sent it. I mean if you waited over a day to reply to your direct supervisor then HELL Yes.

If its someone thats not so important? Then no.

That said....One should treat others at work as they want to be treated no matter the position.

It was in reply to the first email contact from someone who will be coordinating a long-distance volunteer project I plan to work on. She was wondering about my future availability, and I had to pull together my summer schedule (both at my normal job and my classes) to figure out what I could commit to. Also I was sick in bed yesterday, but didn't want to explain that to someone I don't know at all and don't really have an obligation to (yet).
