North Korea is a bit easier to deal with, in my opinion, partly because they rely quite a bit on infrastructure, which the Afgan insurgents didn't so much.
Just bomb some military bases and government buildings and they'd have much more trouble organising. Also, they seem like a more conventional military than the Afgan insurgents. If they try to fight America conventionally, they'll lose.
Also, if the fat boy himself could be killed or captured, North Korean morale would plummet. They're very reliant on him as a central figure.

I think destroying monuments and propaganda would have more of an effect on morale. I doubt North Koreans will have the same level of respect and reverence for Un that they did for Kim Jong-Il and his father.

You're basing that opinion on a stereotype. It might be true, but it's just speculation. Also I have to question how someone can be a "starving villager" when they serve in the army and are given food. Regardless, there will still be a fight. The Taliban aren't rich (they use ancient soviet rifles and rocketry) and they've been fighting for 11.5 years!
They've been outgunned by the South and the US for a long time, they might be braggarts but they're not stupid. Kim Il-Sung has been dead since 1994 and they still worship him. If he was killed, they'd martyr him.
Not that I'm saying the US wouldn't win. But some people are talking like it will be a cakewalk curbstomp, as if there aren't 5 million soldiers who do not follow the UN conventions, are conditioned from birth to believe that their own lives are worthless without service to their leader, don't live in a country that has been preparing for war since 1954 and that aren't in possession of enough weapons to kill everyone in both Koreas twice.

Thinking about it, forcing a cult of personality on people like this is kinda a double-edged sword. How do you know these soldiers actually accept these things, though? We could speculate about this all day, but North Koreans watch South Korean TV shows and listen to South Korean radio - there is a sizeable black market for these things - they are not stupid; they know what life is like outside North Korea (they at least have a general idea that the South is better off than them, from the testimony of North Korean defectors), so many of them risk certain death to enter South Korea or Japan. At a time when soldiers are defecting more than ever (in one case killing their commanding officer(s) before escaping into Mongolia through China) I'm starting to question how many soldiers would actually be prepared to fight and die for their transparently shitty country.

You make an interesting point. While I've always said that we shouldn't underestimate the effectiveness of North Korean indoctrination, there are several cases of North Koreans not buying into it. Hell, some of them may actually help to otherthrow the regime if war were to break out. They're not all mindless drones who'll sacrifice themselves for Dear Leader.
