There was a marked increase in the baseline and post-stimulation GH values in 6 of the 13 presurgery patients, peaking at T15. IGF-1 was similar to reference values in both groups, but one post-surgery patient, whose level was below the normal range. There were no polymorphisms in the amplified gene region for SOX9 and a single nucleotide synonimous polymorphism for DAX1. No statistically significant differences were seen in the mean of CAG repeats between controls and transsexual subjects. SRY gene was present in all subjects. It could have some basis in biology. Buss, in his worldwide mate selection preferences study, found that women were more concerned with their appearance when it came to attracting a mate.
It took place over lots of different cultures and enviroments but still got quite consistent results. Therefore we can infer that there is an innate factor in play.

Not trucks and such specifically, but their characteristics. Like the doll's texture or being able to move the truck on its wheels, for example.

Because there's srong evidence for it. The wide variety of enviroments minimises an enviromental influence. The consistent results in spite of this suggest an innate factor.
No, I wasn't talking abbot makeup specifically. I offered up the mate preferences in genders study as a possible biological explanation for why women might gravitate towards makeup.

We have no way of knowing the researchers motivation in using certain objects.
So when men used to get women by being flashy, didn't that show a female biological preference for flashy men?
When we see male animals such as peacocks or lions who are much more vibrant than their female counterparts, does that show a female biological preference for flashy mates?

Honestly, I don't think we're going to get anywhere here. I'll bring up a behaviour with a study or something saying it's innate, you'll say it's enviromental, we'll argue semantics for a little while before shifiting to something else. How about we just agree to disagree on the matter?
