I thought Mercedes-Benz would have learned from what happened when Jaguar released the --pimped out Ford Mondeo-- X-Type. I would go with the Audi S4 Quattro. It will have a nicer interior, better build quality, and it doesn't look like someone tried to graft a 1/2 scale S-Class onto an A-Class chassis. Also the all wheel drive will get you across anything.

If you can afford an S4, then you can afford not to care about fuel economy. The EPA figures are unserious fraud/scam ratings anyway.

I'll probably look into getting a Ford Taurus SHO instead. They use regular gasoline and are cheaper to maintain. Plus, they are from Ford, so I can park it in my father's driveway.
