What should I put it on and use with?

Toast, Rye bread, Crackers, Rice cakes etc, but not too thickly. also a little can be mixed into soups, stews and the like.

Meat based so experiment.

I like it, myself. The proper way is to make some buttered toast, then spread the Marmite on thinly. I can't stress thinly enough.

Why?

@previous (A)
Yes, spread it very thinly as it has a very strong and somewhat salty taste. In small amounts it is very tasty - overdo it and it will overwhelm you

The flavor is very intense and if you put too much on, it will be too salty.

Marmite isn't meat based.

I dilute it in hot water and drink it.

You are quite right Green I meant it was meat complimentary. It is in fact made mostly from a yeast extract and salt. And, right again, it makes a tasty drink.
