You've had a dog or cat for 14 years of your life. You grew up with this pet. They are your best friend, and you love them so much. You've gone through all your worst and best times with them. They helped keep you alive when when you were deathly sick. They take away your stress and depression.
You moved out of your parent's house now, and this pet is completely stressed to the point where they hide all the time. They hate the person you moved with. They growl at them if they touch them. They look at that other person with depression and fear just because there's something about them they don't like, even though that other person has never abused them-ever.
You love this person they hate. They cannot move out. Do you keep the pet and worry about their health (especially because they are old)...and worry that the stress will cut their life short...
Or, do you send the pet back to your parents house were it was happy to live? Yet you will be greatly unhappy without your pet?
Give the pet to your parents (who are offering), where he/she will be happy again and possibly live longer. You will be depressed though.

Fuck that person. One doesn't shove out an old best friend whom they've been through a lot with for a new one, animal or not. I'd move out or shove the other person out.

I couldn't be happy if my pet, which is hypothetically keeping me sane, was unhappy.

Didn't you post how your friend's spiders are deathly depressed over living with your friend's roommate? "They hate the roommate," you said! "They just sit in their glass pen and do not eat. Crickets get put in but they ignore them and the crickets hop around and then chirp all night. Only when the roommate leaves and stays away for hhours do the spiders calm down and eat. Depressed spiders are depressed"
