Despite being non-religious, sometimes whenever I'm in a panicky state I pray to which ever deity maybe real and wants to answer my plea.

I don't pray anymore. Not because it is a form of brainwashing, but because it is a less efficient form of brainwashing than Tony Robbins style affirmations: I am beautiful, I am healthy, I am the ruler of my universe.

At least this way I enjoy the delusion I want, rather than risking that some imaginary all-powerful sky dude might tell me to fuck off.

I gave up on Mithras too.
