You'll miss out on some of the we're-all-scared-freshman fall stuff which helps build community, but that may not matter to you. Doesn't make much of a difference otherwise.

After just one semester at an elitist rural school, I hated it and transferred to a big urban school. I found I was immediately accepted as one of the cool new kids and can't imagine it would've been so easy were I simply one of the crowd. My stories about spoiled rich rednecks seemed to help too.
