Topic: Where can I buy McDonald's barbecue sauce?

Anonymous A started this discussion 13 years ago #26,362

I can't survive with just the leftovers I get with chicken mcnuggets. Is there a source for their BBQ sauce?

If it doesn't say in the fine print on the packet, you could ask one of the employees to look on the boxes the packets come in, and it could be listed on there. My guess would be it comes from one of the major sauce companies. Go the grocery store and buy one of every single barbecue sauce they have, and one of them will be it.

I got a lot of it when I had a friend who worked at McDonald's, but now I don't know anyone who works there. I found a site that said you just mix and microwave this:

1/2 cup kraft original flavor barbecue sauce
1/3 cup bullseye original barbecue sauce
1 teaspoon light corn syrup

I will try that.

just like ask for an excessive amount of barbecue sauce at the window or counter when u order next time i'm sure they'd be glad to give it to u dude esp. at like closing time or st they're like 'whatever dude the regissters closed i can't really charge u for this bbq sauce just take this bag of it'

Doesn't mean they use the same ingredients or have the same production costs.

True and Kraft gets away with murder. You could do this. In wine tasting classes the very good ones - You learn to smell the item you are about to sample and make guesses as what its all about and do this for a few minutes and then a tiny taste.

Object is to identify elements and ratios. How much tomato do you taste and is it on the fresh vs roasted tomato side.

How much sugar? And is the Mc Ds perfect for your tastes or wood you rather it be less sweet or even more.

http://www.kraftbrands.com/bullseyebbq/

One has brown sugar and mustard

Other has apple cider vinegar

Other they stick in a chuck of desert wood (flavor)

Other has Hickory in stead of Mesquite and Molasses

So you need to taste the MacD's and start to figure out whats in it that you like and then you can recreate and even improve upon

I have ingredients to make a different barbecue sauce today, so I think I'll try that.

I do use store brands - have too many in frig. I add dis and that. A Touch of Horseradish and Tabasco for more zip. Most store brands are too sweet for my taste.

I am sure OP can with some work get a copy or more better then wot a fast food joint uses and they are buying on the super cheep and looking to cut cost 2make even cheeper next tyme.

Horsemeat is now showing up in USA in places its not supposed to be in.

I've noticed in the past three years they sell Whataburger™ (really big deal in Texas - on par with McD's, BK, and Wendy's) condiments in stores now. You could write to McDonald's and ask for the same thing.
