Nah. The problem is that EA controls a lot of franchises that people like. I don't like EA, but I like, say, Mass Effect too much to pass it up.
Still, maybe they'll learn from this. Just because they're souless robot bastards doesn't mean that they won't react to bad PR and player outrage.

You're an idiot for continuing to support EA and while people like you buy their games EA will continue to purchase orther IPs because you have a $ value on your head... When EA buys something like Bioware the company is valued based on how many people will buy their product no matter how watered down it is or what sort of DRM is put on it.
Bioware like the makers of Sim City are just being cashed out for every dollar EA can make in the shortest amount of time.

I didn't say that. I said that they are as single-minded as fanboys, focusing their hatred of EA at the exclusion of buying games that they'd like.
I think it's a bit silly that I'm having to defend my purchase of videogames that I enjoy playing. Yes EA are corporate robot bastards, but there's good developers under them that make good games. It's unfortunate that EA makes money off of them, but it'd even more unfortunate if good devs were ignored and subsequently eaten by EA just for being published by EA.
