Topic: A good majority of intelligent people are autistic.

Is this true or is this a myth?
If autism is associated with intelligence and creativity. How come people rag on it as if it's a bad thing?

Maybe it is true, but there are lots of other downsides to autism. It's like having a big dick but being born black.

Is there still downsides to being born black? I thought society was on their way to an equilibrium?

Monkey features, lower intelligence, an unhealthy obsession with fried chicken, etc.

I guess they could like chicken too much, but is that really a negative thing?
Nigga, chicken is delicious.

I wouldn't go as far as saying that a good majority of intelligent people are autistic. It definitely is true that many autistics are excellent in whatever their focal point is. Autistics have the tendency to become extremely interested in a specific subject, and pretty much obsess over it. Learning all there is to learn, practicing and thinking about it a lot. Maybe it's horses, maybe it's maths or maybe it's social science, it's all there.

Autism doesn't make someone intelligent. It doesn't make them a cretin either. It makes them a different type of person, who definitely has the capability to excel, but they can crash and burn just as easily. Autism is unique. Every autistic is as different from another as they are different from the rest of society. A blanket statement like yours is therefor meaningless.

People rag on it because it's easy to do. Because it's different. Because the bad is just so much more visible than the good. Most importantly it's the self proclaimed autistics on the internet, in my opinion. People who use it as a shield for bad behavior and the likes.

I see. I was unfamiliar with the *golfclap* so I looked it up and found http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=golf%20clap. After reading that I took your reply as being sarcastic. If I was incorrect I apologize.

Would it not be more accurate to simply say, "A good majority of autistic people are intelligent."

Good point is good. I should have written it like that.

@previous (I)
And obsessive and antisocial doesn't automatically equal autism, right?
