Need to include when the page was published or last revised in a reference for a college essay. Any way to do this? It's acceptable to use a rough date if the actual date isn't available, but it'd be nice to have the real date.

Welp, can't find a date in there. Tried wayback and google but they didn't know either. Guess I'll have to find another source or just be lazy and say circa something.

Have you tried right-click → View Page Info and checked the Modified date?

Something else that might work is to check using "javascript:alert(document.lastModified)" by pasting that into your browser bar from the page. This might not work though depending on how the page was generated.
As a last-ditch effort you might try posting the link where to4str can find it and waiting to see if he makes any sexual advances toward the page in question. This last measure is only a very rough method of determining age of things and may be hard to justify in an academic context.

Have you tried right-click → View Page Info
Then go look at cookies
Click on the security tab
Click on view cookies
At the bottom left hand corner look for a listing of dates cookies expire. There is a chance that one old date will appear and then you can use that in your citation.

While I'd love to use the to4str method, I'm afraid that the page would be damaged by his attention, as he is known to be quite rough with things he is attracted to.
I may try the mountainman method instead, as he is usually caught and exiled whenever he goes after anything too young.

Okay, yet another little work-around: Some blogs and message boards (like ours!) generate pages, so the modified date is always the current one. If links to other content (say, maps, diagrams, or other images on the page) are part of the page you are interested in, then you might try checking their dates. For instance, if you call up an old Minichan thread, the page info will give you the current date. If there is an image in the thread that is hosted on static.minichan.org, then you can open the image in a separate page or tab. The date shown in the page info for the image should match up to the original date for the thread because you are checking the modified date for the static image rather than the generated page.

Did you really need to go through all this? Just look at the bottom of the page and it will say. Published: <Date-of-publish>. Last touched: <Date-of-modification>. You can also see the short link to the page there so that you don't have to type in a long URL to visit it again.
