I know the big bang and god are the most widely accepted theories. But what do you think? I like the multiverse theory. Our universe could be the result of other universes colliding.

I'll look into it properly when I get home, but a while I saw a documentary my dad was watching where they were talking abbot how the big bang theory had fallen out of favour.

god and saten was arm wrestling, and they were evenly matched, and god pushed out this eldritch fart to distract saten, saten caught whiff of it and near bout died he was gagging so hard and god used this opportunity to beat him. the fart cloud turned into our universe and saten has been buttmad over gods cheating ever since, but like it was only a couple minutes for them so we can't call him autistic.

Okay a quick Wikipedia search seems to indicate that inflationary theory is commonly seen as an answer to the Big Bang's problems, but has problems of its own. That's what the documentary was referring to.

The problem with all of these theories is that they suggest that prior to starting the universe there was nothing: For, if there was something, no matter how small or large or insignificant, then things had already started. It beggars the question, what started the basis of what started the Universe.

Yes but positing an infinitely old universe is at least equally problematic. Saying that time "started" at the moment of the big bang is slightly less conceptually difficult, but then you'll always wonder what exactly it means when you say time "started" because you're using time to describe how time came to be. Of course, describing things without reference to time is pretty tricky as well. Just try to tell any kind of story about a thing without reference of any sort to temporal events and you'll know what I mean. When it comes to describing the beginning of the universe, I think our commonsense notions about what is or isn't plausible, while pretty useful for ordinary things, need to take a backseat and let the data speak for itself.

That God stuff is so dumb. Everyone knows that the Universe and all it's complexity just all of a sudden poofed into existence for some unknown reason. All the neat stuff like gravity and thousands of species being involved in a self supporting food chain and oxygen and plants which heal illness just happened randomly, oh yeah.

Okay first of all you're pretentious, second of all it's "begs the question", third of all you used the phrase "begs the question" and then actually asked the question and fourth of all there was no "prior to the starting" because time did not exist.
