The decline of the brain happens at different rates for different people. I think the consensus is that the human mental peak is in the 20's. With exercise, nutrition, and mental stimulation (like being social and active), you can keep your brain kicking well into old age
The human brain stops is fully developed around age 20, and although we may be learning new things we begin to lose brain cells. The loss increases as we reach our 50's and rapidly increases into our 70's.
