I've had 3 done. It's actually not as bad as people think. You're numb for most of it and it lasts maybe an hour and 15 minutes tops.

This is disturbing two people who are young had three root canals. Dentists should be saving teeth.

It'd be like every time you get a cut, the doctor says, "Okay we gotta amputate." And people who say "Oh our dental science is lacking so we just have to suffer," no think of the hipcratic oath: do no harm. Fucking dentists like drilling your teeth because it makes them money.

I only have one tooth story. I had three wisdom teeth removed. I do not remember why the 4th remained. Anyway the tooth next to it required a root canal which failed. So tooth was extracted. Later that wisdom tooth moved over and filled in so perfectly that future dentists had no clue it was a wisdom tooth.

Right, the dentists are cheating you. And everybody conspires to reject you and the government is stealing your thoughts.

Not all wisdom teeth are impacted and need to be removed. Some can be left. I have a couple teeth missing near my molars, and I'm hoping my wisdoms will shove over the molars and fill in the gaps.

@388,467 (Leonidas !nBpim1wazU)
At a certain point, nothing can be done to save a tooth.

I need to research why wisdom teeth in first place. Two dentists have warned me to be extra careful when it comes to brushing that one tooth as well as area around it. Reason is that the move over also means the root is wacky in shape and will be next to impossible to ever do a root canal on.

I should add that for a root canal it sure was nice to have one sweet super good looking gal doing that root canal. Memories of her soft warm body and lets just say upper body chest pushing into me during the procedure. Her office staff tried to fix me up with her and that was one hell of a compliment. Tyming is everything and at the tyme I had one super GF.

How long ago did this root canal happen?

1998 just b4 departing to Australia for my first 6 months of full tyme living there. IF I had known that Qualcomm's unwritten policy of Field Engineers, never having to pay one dime for any med issue including dental - wood have been total cost free.

Found out in Australia that a simple anti bacterial ointment is again the lawn to buy and use. One can go to a doc and get a script for the stuff and I did, so as to have in first aid kit at the Satellite Control n Command Station for Globalstar in Dubbo Australia, but wot you get is such horrid Goop - one is discouraged from using it and it stanks. Aussie policy says such stuff is not good for countries health over all.

yeah, you're wrong. people not cleaning their teeth end up under lots of dentists drills.
also people can be genetically predisposed to bad oral health.
If a dentist is using a drill, it's because you have a cavity that will get worse, cause an infection, and then you lose your tooth, so he drills it to save it. A root canal, if it's being done, is also saving your tooth from jaw rot.

if your dentist recommends something be done, there's a pretty good chance it's either his option, or you'll lose the tooth eventually.
like, within the year, eventually.

that is the trouble with teeth, it's either heroics, or you pull it when it's black and loose.

i mean, and i guess you could brush and floss too, but if it's too late it's too late.

So? Dentistry is shitty. If the technology was remotely decent, they would have a way to heal teeth instead of replacing them.

Hmm, you're an idiot. Hip or knee replacement surgery isn't shitty, it's extremely high tech and advanced. "the should just heal it" is moron talk for "i don't know the first thing about anything."

You understand teeth aren't like tissues. Teeth don't repair themselves or grow back.

Shit bro, you'd better let all of those dentists know that they're not doing it right. I'm sure that they'll take your advice very seriously. After all, you are in a position to know all about dentistry.

I think it was only after syntax left Australia that he met Andy Bechtolsheim while stock trading in Munich. As the result of a lost swing dancing bet, syntax convinced Bechtolsheim to write the check that helped launch Google. After that, syntax was off to help Deutsche Aerospace design new fighter jets before leaving to spend three months in Mongolia testing satellite phone coverage for Globalstar. It was during that time that syntax coined the term "WiFi" in an email to Interbrand Corp. and called Steve Jobs via satellite phone to personally give him the idea for what would become the iPod.

But he gave logical reasons for you idiocy afterwards.

Have you given up trying to expose the dark side of dentistry, then?
