Over the past 300 years the English language has changed more in England than it has in the United States, so if anything, you bastardized your own language. I do agree with your other sentiment though. USA is not the center of the world and it's called English for a reason, though most websites have separate buttons for UK English and American English.

I didn't say we spoke the original language or that ours has not changed at all. I said that UK English has changed more over the past 300 years. American English is actually closer to the English spoken 300 years ago than UK English despite a few spelling changes we made.
