I kind of agree with the law. If you buy a subsidized contract phone, you are to stick with the plan and stay locked to the carrier until either the contract is fulfilled or you pay the fee to cancel. When you cancel or finish the contract, however, the phone companies should be obligated to unlock your phone. Fair is fair, after all.
