I went to church for 18 years, not by choice but by force and now I just don't. I used to go twice on Sundays and once on Wednesdays. My self being from the South also, it was a high chance that this would happen since there are a lot of "Christians" in the South East.

I was raised in a rather forceful Christian upbringing as well, but was able to escape it in my later teen years. I think that has caused me to hate it more than anything. I always hated it as a kid.

Yep, same. What my parents didn't realize was that forcing me to go was just making me not follow along with the religion later in life. I'd say I'm agnostic now. Knowing if I hadn't went to church, I'd probably be an atheist today.
