Topic: How come there was never a Bible 3?

Anonymous A started this discussion 13 years ago #25,070

Bible 1 did so good and Bible 2 even has it's own fan following.

How come a Bible 3 hasn't been made yet?

Jesus died so they basically wrote themselves into a corner. I mean, it's hard to top god's son coming to Earth and being killed. A sequel would be perceived as inferior to the one before.

But there's gotta be some way of making a good sequel, yes?
Did Bible 2 even go into details about what happened to Jesus once he resurrected?

Joseph Smith made a great spiritual sequel to Bible 2.

Koran, Book of Mormon. There's been plenty. Even Judiam got new books with its mysticism, albeit Islam created a mystical branch with Sufi.

And I can't believe none of you have read the spiritual stuff on Dr. Robert's website. There's lots of these books.

the book of revelation is what your looking for

Meh. Revelation isn't a true sequel, since it takes place at a completely different time and has a fairly weak connection to the previous inatallments. The whole "end of the world" plot feels like it's trying too hard and absolutely shuts down any hope of further sequels.

@383,925 (A)
It's left ambiguous, and I think it's best that way. Leaves it open to interpretation.

Someone should write a sequel to the Book of Mormon. That could be fun.

Isn't Revelation a chapter in Bible 2 and does this mean that Bible 3 will be set in a post-apocalyptic environment?

@previous (A)
But it isn't actually happening right then. It's sort of like Sarah Connor's visions in the Terminator movies.

revalation is the series finale. until that happens, there could be an unlimited number of bibles; its a weird setup, but star wars is far worse in the continuity department and is still an enjoyable experience

They should do like Batman did and re-start the franchise but instead of being a whiny hippie fag, Jesus gets some backbone and whoops Judas' ass for betraying him then pwns the Roman Empire by flying an airliner (borrowed from the future) into the Coliseum in Rome. Book of Mormon was really just a spin-off which flopped and I don't think it has potential as separate series but maybe Joseph Smith could have a cameo in Jesus:Reloaded coming next fall.

I see Revelations as an epilogue. The sequel should be set on another planet. The devil should be Bowser though.

Revelation DOES say it will curse you like a bitch if you add anything to it, but not sure if they meant just the book of Revelation or the entire bible... fuckin' love Revelation though, that's some trippy shit right there. Ain't even religious

I have 3 Bibles and I'm an atheist. It's good for a chuckle. "Fear not! For I am the first and last!".

Why don't we just forsake the Bible and follow the joyous words of the messiah, the Flying Spaghetti Monster? Seems just as reasonable to me.
