Topic: Anything to help get rid of scars?

Anonymous A started this discussion 13 years ago #24,999

Hey. I have some pretty bad scars on my arm where my cat scratched me a few months back. I was wondering if anything could hide, make them less obvious?

Syntax

Adding my 2cents for wot little it may be worth.

I was going to recommend opening a capsule of Vitamin E and putting it on the scar & doing this for a number of days/weeks. Test it out on a tiny area of some other part of your skin first to be sure you do not get an allergic reaction from direct contact.

This worked for a bacon grease spill bunch of years ago on Christmas morning. My wife at the time was rushing breakfast and got a very bad burn on the back of her hand. I rushed her to the most famous burn center in the Valley (Grossman burn center) Famous later for fixing up a botched job another Doc did on Michel Jackson but far more famous for treating lots of kids from all over the world for free at UCLA and other hospitals.

If you look up the use of Vitamin E for burns as well as scars on the web you come away Con~fucious. Vitamin E Is Controversial Treatment for Scars and of course for burns because everyone says never put oil on a burn.

Anyway Dr Grossman treated my Wife and then told her that he could not prove Vitamin E worked but he used it on all of his patients AFTER TESTING FOR CONTACT Reaction If you are allergic you will know in a couple of minutes because the skin will turn pink/red.

I looked up the stuff Henn recommended and its Vitamin E and Onion Extract. Link says the stuff does not work but then others say E helps.

Now does it work on a scratch that has scared? All I know is ....One of my past GF's had lines like scars on her breasts and she hated such. Did not bother me at all. She tried the Vitamin E for a number of weeks on just one breast and guess who had to run out and buy a large jar of those capsules?

It worked for her and those were stretch marks that looked kinda deep to begin with. Maybe Dr Dreamworks can weigh in on this.

Vitamin is dirt cheep so wot ya got to loose? Test it first cause 33% of people tested were contact allergic to the stuff which also messed up the studies on does it or does it not work.
