I remember how new money I was when I got my first full time job. I bought a lot of flashy shit. I've never cared too much about social class though. People are people to me.

Sir, when you have pay half your salary to the government before you even receive it and then go on to pay all the routine taxes of normal living you might feel you are entitled to some extra consideration. Remember these people could leave the country and take their money with them. It is already happening not only in the UK but also in the States where the situation is, if anything, worse. That said, class is much more than money. Rich people are not necessarily Upper Class

Not in the UK, There is Nobility without substantial funds. A working class Lottery winner remains Working Class. Standards, breeding and background are not gained with a winning ticket. See image above - 1930's - 1940's ludicrous though it is nothing changes

Thought it was occupation based.
Although upper-upper IE aristocracy would be multiple generations of upper class. Whereas upper-lower IE New Money is first generation upper class.

Nope. Just how you're born. You can adopt the lifestyle of another class and in many cases blend in perfectly, but you'll never actually be that class.

Where I live most people are beach people. Rare to dress other then very casual. Many own a old truck or old station wagon just for the surf board. Its very hard to think about "Class" when you live in a wet suit or shorts n no shirt daily.
Those in San Francisco dress UP. Colder there but beyond that they want to dress up. People here do not buy cars to impress with one exception back a few years when a mass of employees from Qualcomm rushed out to buy brand new expensive cars to show off and that was a lesson learned for them who did this.
