No no not downtown - I mean downhill skiing with eyes on where the Powder was and chasing it from one resort in Switzerland to Austria and back.
So the deal is and a post can be found where I said NO WAY Was I going to heed to Vodaphones demand for me in person in Europe to just sign piles of paper to renew my annual consulting contract. Fact is Vodaphone when they were partners with Qualcomm and Acatel - Vodaphone was one of my most Fav clients and remains so - Directly I do not do all that much work for them currently, but they pay one hell of a years retainer, but not enough to ruin a planned Ski trip!!!
Vodaphone almost owns 50% of Verizon (wireless) and its well known in investment circles that Vodaphone wood like to own 100% and wood if Verizon had a several year history of paying dividends on stocks. Wireless business is one where everyone has to install brand new STUFF just to keep up and more brand new STUFF to be a leader, and making real money is is is well its been a nice dream for many for many years. Sure companies do make money but in indirect ways. I am NOT clear on exactly how they really make money, but everyone knows WIRELESS is IS is the end all of modern communication.
So if U bothered to read this and one or three will - I told Vodaphone sorry no can see ya and they said WOT? U want to go skiing instead of a meeting that will mean more money then you have a current clue about! I said tell me more and they said sure, but YOU must come to US for a meeting.
They offered round trip air fare Fair? Why not one word? I said hummmmm but why meet in a conference room and they said, who said meet in such and said how about a business ski trip. Some legal mumbo jumbo re paying for GFs - If wife wives no problem but since they both work for American Airlines the airfair airfare? is hardly a problem and they had already taken the holidays OFF anyway.
I still said I don't think it will work because I do not have the time to run up to Santa Monica and pull all my powder snow gear out of a garage where I rent out a house I own, but keep my garage for storage.
They said hey don't worry about gear as all of that can be supplied - Me said sorry but rented gear and my feet don't compete & they said who said Rent gear. One other time when none of my gear arrived for my very first two weeks of learning to ski - Copper mountain Club Med supplied all brand new everything until my hand me down stuff arrived and not once did they ask for anything back soooooo. Beginners stuff so no huge expense for them.
Bottom line ONE HELL OF 10 days NOT including Travel tyme. Lots of Powder and too much Fondue AND AND
Now that body is broken in and in Ski shape, cause frankly the first 3 days of trip I was NOT in top form!!! But now am and albeit Girls have to go back to work I dooooooon't.
Every years its the same dannnnze for me re Consulting contract renewals. I always raise my per hour fee and my yearly retainer and try and change of few nagging contract terms. In the end I ask for more then I want and negotiate to wot I really wanted in the first place. On contract terms I R not as successful. I am not allowed to own a computer printer for example. Software to recognize memory sticks is forced on me so a couple of clients get reports of wot I downloaded to a removable device.

End of year contract tyme I never schedule or agree to any consulting tyme until all contracts with all clients are signed in blood! So my tyme is Freeee up to Mid Jan with one exception.

Globalstar is now 42 working brand new Satellites with just 6 more to go very soon. All are near launch pad and are in final testing B4 them former Soviets push the button. I did do that pushing on the first 8 years ago, with 4 at a tyme. Russia has always been better at building BIGGER ICBMs and they can do 6 instead of the 4 the Delta 2's we used from the Cape.
Russia also tried to launch 12 Globalstars all at the same tyme on their most Monster of Rocket Ships and well all those LEO'S Ended up as scrap heap minutes later in Russia. Insurance companies paid n never again was such silliness attempted by Russkies.
All the new ones are not exactly problem free as Cuuuunt can splain re Wheels (all disclosed in 10K reports to investors. Me think investors more worried re NASDAQ de-listing but funny how all of a sudden a to of money rolled in moments after that de-listing.

Not much money to be made so its a good reason they do not load the mountains up with expensive STUFF to work for very few.
Its that way in Malibu and other mountain resorts. Few hundred calls vs 100's of Thousands on the same exact expensive equipment plus it costs so much more to maintain Cell sites loaded with snow. Dooooon't try sailing in USA and expect cell service of much worth on water unless your with Verizon and that is only because with Verizon its no extra cost for equipment to work where few use it.

Is accurate cause that 10 myle filter needs a reset which means with Sunset set for 4:52 n Tide will be +1.4 feet its tyme to get them feet moving the 10 Myles and YES I will stop at 4:52 for the expected Green Flash.

Find something you really enjoy as a hobby and then try and turn it into a life long adventure of more then just simple survival. AKA work should be someThing you daily rush to get in2 and enjoy. Be proactive on asking for help when you encounter life problems that seem insurmountable. Therapy can be more then just solving problems.
Don't overdue therapy as a crutch. Know when to bow out...Know when its time to return for help.
Test each and every brand new Condom. Trusting a manufacture loaded with people paid minimum wages means expect a few holes now and then along the way to to to.....
