My friend told me that Kurt was really called Burt but had to change his name as the record label didn't think it was a serious enough name. He also told me that Burt didnt really die until 2008 when he was in a bus crash and that his brother Norman was shot and he pretended it was him. Are these true or is my friend making it up?

Kurt is/was his real name. He had a tattoo with a "K" in it – I highly doubt he would brand his skin with a "fake" name.
