Got bored and wanted the new features. Also there was a bug in PulseAudio which I hoped would be fixed in 12.10. I did a clean install on a blank HDD and copied my home folder over.

Anything horrible? Have you considered switching it out for ALSA?

It was nothing critical, but occasionally pulseaudio would crash and flash videos would play at 2x speed without audio. I didn't experience this problem till the 12.04 upgrade and if upgrading to 12.10 doesn't fix it, I will go back to 11.10. There was a link on Launchpad for this bug but I am too drunk to find it at the moment. Even so, I have had far less hassle maintaining Linux than Windows. Having tried Windows 8, I can safely say that my computational future is Linux.

If the bugs persist you might try uninstalling, reinstalling the PulseAudio 1.0 from Oneric, and pinning the package version in dpkg before going through the hassle of switching back.
