They've basically forced everyone to "Moderate" and you can tell by the change in the results. Even if you search for something blatantly explicit like "pussy" or "blowjob" explicit results will not come up. You have to type other things to try and force it. For some stupid reason it's only Google.com and not Google.co.uk and other sites. What the flying fuck? I'm switching to Bing.

Because they're a big corporation now. Google doesn't want parents worrying about their kids finding porn on Google because it would be bad PR. I don't see it as a big problem though; you can always ditch Google and use Bing or Yahoo or Duck Duck Go. You can ditch your Gmail and Google Plus and swap your Android for a Windows Mobile or an iPhone or a Blackberry. Google only has as much power as you give it.
It's kinda funny though cause Steve Jobs once said "if you want porn, buy an Android". With Android's dominance in this post-pc era, they are fast becoming Microsoft 2.0. Google in 2012 is like Microsoft in 1999: at the apex of its power and glory. Eventually something new we dont know about yet will doom them to irrelevance.

I've done some additional research into this and it's not that bad. If you want porn, you Google "[porn star name] porn". So if you wanted porn of Kyla Cole for example, you'd Google "Kyla Cole porn" and you will be rewarded with many explicit images. The main difference is that if you want porn, you have to ask for it.

This. Not everyone not using safe search is looking for porn. (Well at least that's the reasoning, I think. I don't know if that's true).
