Hedgehogs always climb over the fence my dog attacks them and he takes several hours at night eventually kills it. Anyway I think I will nail some barbed wire on top of the fence nail it down so it can't be moved would that stop them? Would razor wire be better or what? It ought to stop people too. I will also increase the height of the fence by 1 foot.

no you idiot, barbed wire is for large animals like cows and herd animals. a hedgehog is too small and will go right through barbed wire.
what you need is an electrified fence.

If I take two pieces of barbed wire and nail them on the fence so that the barbs are twice as frequent it could work well.

otherwise the hedgehog will just go right through. hedgehogs are a terrible nuissance,
if you've got an infestation you have 3 routes you can approach extermination:
1. electrified fence
2. those little landmines they make for varmint control
3. find their nest and take out the queen.
i don't recommend looking for the queen, they can be very dangerous if you're unarmed
