So I went to the Cheesecake Factory last night, and it was a wondrous experience. The service was good. The food was tasty, and the whole night was pretty delightful — even during the hour we sat at the bar downing gin and tonics while waiting for our table.
At the end of the meal the server brought us the check. I had brought enough money for the evening. While I had cards on me, I kept an eye on how much I was spending throughout the evening and knew how much cash I had on me. As my partner made a final trip to the restroom, I paid the ticket and left our server a little over 20% gratuity before we left.
