Composite Vinyl Terminators? Sure, it's a start.

One problem with the T-600 is that it couldn't pass as human because of its rubber skin. This may seem sluggish and clumsy now, but we have to plan for future advances in biotechnology allowing us to graft living flesh to future models. Composite vinyl will be a good place-holder until the technology advances.

I think he means constant-variable transmissions. And he's right. It's like having a 100-gear transmission with no shifting. It's very efficient.

Oh, those are fun. (and safer for humanity than killer robots) I used to have a little Subaru with an ECVT. The acceleration reminded me of one those toy cars you pull back to wind up and then release.
